Twenty (2)


The train was waiting and I was on the steps.
She looked at me. I looked at her. Neither of

us knew what to say, so we said nothing. She
kissed me softly on the lips and looked into

my eyes. For the first time I noticed she had
one blue eye and a brown one to go with it.

I kept my attention on the right one. The
left was something special, but I could see the

entire world in her cool sapphire lens.
“I want you,” I blurted out. “I want to kiss

you. I want to hold your hand. I want to stay
here and see if we can turn that 10 into…”
