Walking a Path Through Music

There’s this song by Eminem … I can’t recall
the name of it at the moment, but before

he begins to rap he asks the studio
engineer to “Bring me up in the headphones.”

Why? You have to be able to hear your words
if you’re going to say them over a beat.

When he flows his verses are an umbrella
we all can walk under … a path through the sound

and fury of the music and his cadence.
He taps on the beat. “I sit Back with this Pack

of zig Zags and this Bag of this Blah,” and then
Blah, blah blah Blah. Over and over. One, two

Three, one two Three. Enunciation
is the key when you conversate with people.
